See monthly plansFrom an everyday update to a real letter
A call lets you catch up in the moment. A letter gives someone you love a piece of that conversation to read again. It could be a story from your week, news about the children, or a memory you have been meaning to share.
MailedIt is a monthly family-letter service. You create the letter on your phone or computer, and your recipient receives a printed letter in the mail. You keep the personal part of writing, without sorting out a printer, envelopes, or postage.
How to mail a letter online with MailedIt
- Tell us who you are writing to. Create your account and add the family member you want to write to.
- Write in your own way. Write every word yourself, or begin with a few notes and get help shaping a draft. A small update is a good place to start.
- Add the addresses, then approve. Enter your recipient’s mailing address and your return address. Read the letter, make any edits, and check the details before giving your approval. Nothing is mailed without your explicit approval.
- Choose your plan. Pick the plan that fits your family. Once it is active, MailedIt prints your approved letter and mails it. Next month, come back with something new to share.
A monthly reason to share the small things
You do not need a birthday or a big announcement to write. Tell Grandpa what you tried making for dinner. Describe the joke your child keeps telling. Ask Mom about the project she mentioned on your last call.
Monthly reminders help you come back to the habit. Each letter is still yours to review and approve, whether you wrote it from scratch or used writing help. See our monthly letter-writing routine for a simple way to collect ideas between letters.
What should I write in a family letter?
Try three short parts: one thing that happened, why it made you think of them, and a question for your next conversation. For example:
“I finally tried making your soup on Sunday. It tasted close, but I think I went a little heavy on the pepper. It reminded me of sitting at your kitchen table after school. What have you been cooking lately?”
This is an illustrative example. Use your own details and the name you normally call them. Our guide to what to write to grandparents has more starting points.
Questions about sending letters online
Does my recipient need an account?
Your recipient receives a physical letter at their mailing address. They do not need to open an app to read it.
Can I write the whole letter myself?
Yes. Write your own letter, or use writing help if you would like a starting point. You can edit the wording before you approve it.
Will a letter be sent automatically each month?
No. Each letter is printed and mailed only after you review and approve it. Your monthly reminder is just a nudge that it is time to write.
Is MailedIt a subscription?
The monthly and annual plans are subscriptions. The Gift Plan is a one-time purchase with no subscription. Visit pricing to compare the current plans and what each one includes.
Do I need my own printer or stamps?
No. You write and approve online, and we take care of the paper, envelope, and stamp.
